We had such an amazing Spring term that we can’t wait to begin our summer term topic Go Explore! We will be focussing on the continent of Asia and finding out more about the different countries within this continent. It will be wonderful exploring the culture, geography and history of the different areas and finding out lots of facts.
Our role play area is focussed around airlines and our trip to Manchester airport will help consolidate our understanding of transport and travel.
In Literacy we will visit a variety of genres such as narrative, recount and poetry. We’ll look at the text Storm Whale and The Flower and undertake various activities linked to these texts. We’ll also look at the work of Julia Donaldson as a significant author, which will be wonderful.
In Maths we’ll be revisiting the different calculation methods and apply our learning to problems in a range of contexts. We love to go outside to do learning too, so now it’s summer hopefully the sun will shine for us!
In our role play we’ll also investigate different currencies and explore different distances. Additionally, we will explore measures through the use of scales in the context of temperatures.
As usual we’ll be very busy, but will have lots of fun and grow our brains!
